Biography and Practice

Jim Dore is a third generation Seattle lawyer. Jim is an aggressive litigator with more than 25 years of legal experience, which includes extensive experience in the area of condemnation and eminent domain.  After graduating from Seattle University in 1988 and obtaining a Juris Doctorate degree from Gonzaga Law School in 1991, Jim clerked for King County Superior Court Judges Larry Jordan and Frank Sullivan from 1992 to 1994. During that time he worked on some of the biggest criminal trials of the 1990s.

Jim practiced law with his father, Retired Judge James Dore, Sr. (deceased), in the law firm of Dore & Dore, and was a partner in the law firm of Dore Deutscher Law Group, after his father’s death.

He founded Dore Law Group because of his commitment to offer solid, experienced legal counsel.  One of Jim’s most sought-after attributes is his expertise and knowledge in condemnation and eminent domain matters.  He represents clients whose property is being taken, whether fully or partially for a government project, during construction, or by city or county departments.

Population growth in Seattle is projected to remain at nearly twice the national rate. This pace is impressive given the current size of the Seattle metro area, at around 3 million residents. Acquisition of property to develop roads, transit, parking, storm water systems, etc., is inevitable. To make sure you are being fairly compensated – call Jim Dore.  Jim has been named a Washington Super Lawyer® for 2014 and 2019, and is an Eagle member of the Washington State Association for Justice.

How Jim Dore Helps Clients – Trusted Legal Counsel

When property is being taken by the government, property owners look for an attorney who is willing to work hard to prove their property is worth more than the government has offered. They want an attorney who can take on the condemning authority and its team of lawyers, and who will go to whatever lengths are necessary to prove their case. They want an attorney who will be able to get them a fair market value for their property, but if this is not possible short of trial, property owners want an attorney who can do an outstanding job in proving their case at trial to a jury.

Jim Dore understands and he and his team take great pride in offering these services to our clients.

Importantly, Jim and his team also know that a critical part of representing clients is the trust that clients place in our hands with their matter. If a property owner has been offered a sum of money for their property that they feel is below fair market value, they want an attorney whom they can trust, and who will be there for them When It Matters Most. Every client and every case is unique, and it is important to build a strong bond with clients to guide them carefully through the legal process in attempting to secure fair compensation based upon their damages and their particular circumstances.

We Take on the Burden of Fighting the Condemning Authority

Jim and his team are there for clients throughout their lawsuit to explain the legal process so that they know exactly what to expect. Jim takes on the burden of fighting the condemning authority so that his clients can resume their lives.
